Two weeks ago, Fugu hosted its second Radio//Future Sounds event in partnership with totallyradio.com. One of nearly 200 events at this year’s Brighton Digital Festival, the day brought together the pioneers who are utilising the potential of the latest digital and broadcast technologies to shape the future of audio storytelling, music and radio.
This year’s event included discussions on how to turn a passion for podcasting into a profession, as well as a debate on how women and diversity are currently being reflected in the industry. There was a show and tell session from Andrew Phillips (Grasscut), Mary Epworth (Welcome to Night Vale) and composer and sound designer Simon James (Akiha Den Den), exploring their personal approach to the process of audio storytelling. Along with renowned radio producer and sound designer Hana Walker-Brown sharing some of her recent work (listen here).
Broadcast live, recorded on the day and featured on Latest TV, you can follow the day’s twitter chat at #RadioFS16 and listen again here.
